You are responsible for
Defining and deploying short-term (<2 years) roadmaps for digital propositions and indicating longer-term (2-4 years) expectations on developments within electronic systems in alignment with Philips Global Digital Innovation Strategy;
Defining the architecture to the level that it can be realized by project teams and decomposing the architecture in modular, easy-to-maintain and scalable subsystems that can meet future requirements;
Co-responsible for maintaining and updating the knowledge in the architect team, with respect to innovation and new technical developments, within the area of smart connected products;
Determining the required hardware and software interfaces in close co-operation with experts and contributing to the definition of future platforms;
Ensuring the consistency and lean integration of quality processes focusing on continuous improvement, and a customer centric and agile way of working;
Driving an accepted implementation of architecture, by explaining, convincing, involving of and cooperating with relevant competences;
Driving the acquisition process and supporting program management;
Supporting business development by identifying and qualifying technical opportunities;
Leading teams in defining future architectures for smart connected products in the Philips Health continuum.
You are a part of
The Electronic Systems & IoT department is part of Philips Innovation Services and located on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven (the Netherlands). We make a major contribution to the development of many digitally connected Philips products, systems and services. We deliver solutions from first-of-a-kind to mass-production, in multi-disciplinary one-roof teams. We focus on electronics and software development, backed up by 800+ specialists in adjacent competence areas. We work closely together with other Philips R&D departments and with key component suppliers to realize the digital innovation ambition of Philips. We are a certified organization (ISO9001, ISO13485) and are highly experienced in applying standards & regulations (e.g. IEC60601, IEC62304, ISO14971, MDD, FDA).
Our team works according to the Agile methodology, applying the principles of Scrum. You will work on highly innovative propositions, new to Philips, so an entrepreneurial mindset is an advantage. Together with the team, you will strive for continuous improvement of deliverables, your way of working, and yourself.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
A Bachelor or Master degree in electrical engineering;
A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience as a system designer or architect for embedded systems (you have in depth technical knowledge);
Proven experience in a lean way of working;
Experience in coaching and leading colleagues/ teams (multi-disciplinary &- site) in finding the right platform solutions;
Excellent communication and presentation skills, you can convince both engineers and senior business leadership;
Good analytical, strong conceptual skills, excellent problem solving skills and a pragmatic attitude;
Fluent in English and willing to Travel (10%).
