Have the ability to develop and understand complex mathematical and physics based algorithms and possess the ability to train and teach senior development staff in their application. This will include development of prototypes to demonstrate the capabilities of the solution and provide documentation of the proof of concept that demonstrates the capabilities and limitation of the solution. You will be asked to explore emerging areas of technological application to current medical clinical practice including but not limited to data analytics, machine learning and optimization.

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Carry out industrial research in advanced technological areas on issues for which empirical evidence may have been found, but have basically yet to be proven, or to find new principles or solutions where current technologies fail.

You are responsible for

  • Have the ability to develop and understand complex mathematical and physics based algorithms and possess the ability to train and teach senior development staff in their application.

  • This will include development of prototypes to demonstrate the capabilities of the solution and provide documentation of the proof of concept that demonstrates the capabilities and limitation of the solution.

  • You will be asked to explore emerging areas of technological application to current medical clinical practice including but not limited to data analytics, machine learning and optimization.

  • Algorithm development in radiation oncology including treatment plan optimization, physics models of treatment machines and dose calculation models.

  • This should include understanding of plan adaptation and plan quality assessment.

  • Ability to apply analytics to assess the quality of clinical solutions and assess the ability of the solution to be applies as a medical device.

  • Develop software to provide proof of concept prototypes that demonstrate viability of proposed solutions and can be utilized for internal and external collaborator feedback.

  • Leverage scientific principles to provide practical software solutions.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • MS (PHD preferred) in Medical Physics, Bio-Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science and/or Software Engineering.

  • 2 to 4 years for industry experience producing medical device software or equivalent clinical experience in Medical Physics or Bio-Engineering.
