Philips Principal Software Test Engineer (Cloud Platform Team) in Foster City, California

In this role, you have the opportunity to

be an integral member of a highly skilled software development team responsible for the testing and automation of cloud services/API as part of PaaS layer of HealthSuite Digital Platform. This role will provide you the opportunity to leverage your diverse software testing background to deliver our healthcare platform services to a broad set of internal and external customers.

Responsibilities :

  • Design and implement functional, integration and end-to-end test cases for HIPAA complaint platform services deployed in the cloud

  • Work closely with the product to understand how customers use the services and come up with an effective testing Strategy

  • Create and update automated test tools to meet platform needs with regards to functionality, performance, scalability and security

  • Execute tests and generate test reports as part of each sprint and release

  • Be the quality evangelist in the agile teams that develops complex platform services including IoT and Big data

  • Understand the various customer usage patterns and test the platform service APIs using comprehensive test data

  • Troubleshoot integration and production issues in cloud platform services

  • Work collaboratively in an SAFe Agile/Scrum team

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field

6+ years of experience in Testing (Functional, white box and performance testing)

Strong experience in testing Cloud based microservices with REST APIs

Strong experience in testing REST based APIs with SOAPUI (Should be able to quickly ramp up on existing scripts and develop new tests)

Knowledge in Javascript(NodeJS) and testing frameworks like Mocha, chai, cucumber etc.

Strong Knowledge in Python and other scripting languages

Understand and improve quality metrics

Preferred Skills:

  • Healthcare domain knowledge with experience in HL7 and FHIR

  • Experience in testing healthcare applications and knowledge of regulations like FDA, HIPAA and IHE

  • Knowledge of Java, PostgreSQL, AWS, CloudFoundry

  • Performance testing with tools like JMeter

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
