Philips NPI Manager, Product Industrialization in Gaggio Montano, Italy


In this role you will have the opportunity to

Carrie out, independently and according to own judgement, targeted development assignments, the broad outlines of which have already been indicated; develop parts of a new product according to technical specifications on basis of familiar technologies; develop materials and techniques; prepares design releases

You are responsible for:

  • Identify cost saving opportunities with the supplier

  • Contribute to sourcing decisions identifying required supplier capability and quality level

  • Creates, release and continuously drive the improvement of tools, equipment and manufacturing processes and related Quality systems to meet the product specifications

  • Translate product requirements into process requirements safeguarded by proper process monitoring (DFM/DFA)

  • Driving New Product Introduction according our process

  • Identify gaps between required and current supplier capabilities, and drive quality improvement plan / risk mitigation accordingly

  • Implement design and manufacturing process changes at supplier

  • Lead and conclude negotiations of Quality Agreement and ensure that suppliers meet Quality Agreements

  • Monitor the effectiveness of product quality control plans with suppliers throughout the product life cycle

  • Ensure compliance of supplier to Safety regulations, Quality and ROHS/REACH standards on quality management process and product level. Support supplier audits, selection & qualification assessments

  • Validate (Supplier) Quality data and Quality system performance to warrant Quality data integrity. Own and approves the release of purchased parts and finished goods

In this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Education: BS/ MS in engineering or relevant working experience

  • Experience: minimum 5yrs work experience, with preferably more than 3 years experience in an industrial environment, lean manufacturing and supplier quality management, preferably in domestic electrical appliance industry. Consumer electronics background preferred

  • In depth understanding of manufacturing processes, plastic molding-metal tools, equipment and quality systems analytical skills.

  • Experience with quality management systems

  • Expert in modern engineering methods, tools and processes

  • In-depth knowledge of process improvements and cost optimization

  • Strong communication skills with external and internal stakeholders

  • Good written English Skills, workable oral English

  • Independent, Proactive and result oriented

  • Willing to travel worldwide (30% of working time)
