In this role, you have the opportunity to
Drive key Software Application efforts and drive development for a best in class Radiation Therapy cancer care. You will be leading Philips Radiation Oncology Systems (PROS) software function for the US and work in close collaboration with the other Philips Radiation Oncology functions to develop Radiation Therapy planning software and platform. You will be part of our global Radiation Oncology team modernizing and creating new solutions, connecting Philips’ strengths in diagnostics, imaging, therapy follow-up and therapy planning.
You are responsible for
Managing PROS SW development function in US consisting of software and platform developers, software architects, and localization specialists located in Fitchburg and Cleveland
Acting as a function lead to continuously improve your function’s efficiency and quality by driving utilization of modern software development practices, platforms and tools, good architecture, and agile development culture
Developing software skills of your group including recruiting of new talent
Managing outsourced software development
Driving good architectural design and guiding architects in technology choices and refactoring of legacy code
Improving and adapting best SW development practices, processes and tools suitable for ensuring efficiency and quality including the evidence required in the regulated medical device development
Supporting programs by ensuring predictable SW development planning minimizing technical and schedule risks
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to acquire technical or customer knowledge, and system related information required to design, develop, and test software deliverables interoperable with our other Radiation Oncology and Oncology solutions
Actively participating in the work needed to consistently improve, grow, and evolve the results of your group

You are a part of
A global R&D team that creates products and solutions for the Radiation Oncology customer. You contribute to a portfolio of solutions to help enable a confident path to treatment. In this team you will be taking Pinnacle3, known and trusted by our wide installed base to be fast, accurate and flexible planning tool, to a new era of personalized intelligent cancer care.
Pinnacle3 radiation therapy planning product, has its integration to the key areas of imaging and simulation, treatment planning, and tumor follow-up and response.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor in Computer Science or in related engineering field, advanced degree preferred
Minimally 3+ years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience within an application as a product business line
Must have 8+ years of prior hands-on experience in SW development and testing, with modern programming languages and associated systems. (e.g. C/C++, Java, .NET Core, python, full stack web-technologies and Linux/Unix/Windows)
SW architecture skills and familiarity to modern SW architectures (e.g. service oriented architecture, RESTful architecture)
Modern SW tools and approaches such as: CI/CD, TFS, test automation, test driven development, etc.
Agile methodology and SAFe experience is desired
