Philips Tooling Engineer in Glemsford, United Kingdom

In this role as Tooling Engineer, you have the opportunity to join a global Baby Goods Manufacturer that is experiencing tremendous growth. The successful candidate will be an established Injection Mould Tooling professional. You will collaborate closely with the Innovation Centre in Eindhoven to ensure the delivery of high class and novel products.

You are responsible for;

  • Leading the Tooling Engineering content for Central and value stream Engineering Tooling Projects, acting as the gatekeeper and single point of contact for all relevant project content.

  • You will interface with the Innovation Design teams, conducting thorough DFA/DFM studies & assisting with development team design reviews to ensure robust designs for manufacturing.

  • Sourcing/specifying new equipment (moulds, ancillaries etc.) and conducting robust supplier selection for all new Tooling projects.

  • CAPEX development and tracking for responsible Tooling projects.

  • Conducting Tooling Project verifications and validations on a global supplier base, overseeing all tool trials to ensure they are conducted in-line with Philips AVENT processes, producing the necessary documentation for review and ultimately production readiness sign-off.

You are a part of a team of 13, reporting into the Tooling Manager.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience;

  • Strong Injection Mould Tooling background, ideally within a high volume manufacturing setting.

  • Strong CAD skills – AutoCAD & SolidWorks preferred

  • Hands-on experience with Scientific Injection Mould tool trials, analysis of samples and capability study analysis.

  • Project management experience, ideally with relevant qualification.
