Philips Research Scientist in Haifa, Israel

In this role, you have the opportunity to make a true difference by in dept research and development of advanced spectral CT technology based on direct conversion and fast electronics enabling photon counting X-ray detection.!

You are responsible for

  • Innovation and development of novel algorithms to achieve high image quality: calibrations, corrections, reconstruction, image processing, and dose management.

  • Development and utilization of objective image quality assessment methods.

  • Development and maintenance of a suite of simulation, modeling, and diagnostic tools to support the development of new features and capabilities in CT scanners.

  • System level design, evaluation, and verification of image quality and dose management.

  • Close collaboration with Philips research team and engineering teams: system engineering, clinical science, software, electronics, mechanics, verification.

  • Generation of detailed performance requirements and design specifications for nominal product implementation. Consultation to software and hardware implementation and production teams.

  • Collaboration with clinical research sites

  • Writing specifications and technical reports.

  • Participation, presentations, and publishing in international conferences and scientific papers.

You are a part of the Global Advanced Technologies (GAT) team. As part of this team, the research scientist teams up to develop state of state image generation algorithms for photon counting spectral CT to maximize the image quality (IQ) and minimize the X-ray dose.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

Minimum

  • Ph.D. in Physics or Mathematics

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing algorithms and / or simulations

  • Ability to work with global (overseas) & local team members

  • Fluent English

  • Experienced in technical writing.

  • Presentations skills

Preferred

  • Knowledge and experience in simulations, image-processing, signal-processing and advanced data-analysis

  • Relevant experience in the medical domain
