Philips Medical Systems develops and produces advanced X-ray systems for Diagnostic Imaging in Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel and employs around 1,100 people.

Start date: March 2019

Duration internship: 6 months / Availability student assistant: 15-20 hours per week

In this role, you have the opportunity to

contribute to the innovation and transformation of the manufacturing site by developing and deploying next generation technology to enhance production processes.

You are responsible for

  • Support development of new technology and solutions. May own parts of development activity

  • Support technical documentation efforts using MS Office tools. May own sections of documentation efforts

  • Co-ordinate cross-functional design review and release process

  • Participate in component verification and validation activities

  • Support establishment of new processes in operations

  • Support the product launch and deployment in a global manufacturing setting

You are a part of

the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Department, which supports the day-to-day production to improve efficiency and enhance the product throughput through innovation and process improvements.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • You are currently doing your Bachelors or Master’s degree in the field of Electrical Engineering, Software engineering, Computer science

  • Course work and/or project experience in software development (LabVIEW preferred), microprocessors, power electronics, sensors

  • Team player with a strong passion for innovation and high degree of initiative

  • Self-starter, with ability to manage assigned tasks with little supervision

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of technical documentation. Ability to use MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent German and English skills -both verbally and in written communication
