Philips Project Leader (f/m/d) Operational Excellence for Medical Systems & Components in Hamburg, Germany


Your Challenge

Philips Diagnostic Imaging DI business group is transforming its quality. In this role you will manage the initiative to reduce spend on poor quality (Cost Of Non-Quality – CONQ) for the business group (BG) under the mentorship of Head of Business Program / Head of R&D for Imaging Components – a central organization in the business group. In addition to leading a transformation for the reduction to CONQ in the DI BG, you will also lead as a „Chief of Staff“ in the Business Unit (BU) Imaging Components (IC) in order to lead a transformation in operational efficiency in topics such as effective daily management and continuous process improvement, resourcing planning, annual and strategic planning & meeting planning, optimization & outcome follow-up.

You are responsible for

Reduction of CONQ

  • Responsible to lead, under Program Management / close mentorship & coaching the DI CONQ improvement program with a 2-year goal to improve by 54-million-Euro.

  • Will lead and coordinate with the 5 primary BUs within the DI BG on the plans, execution to plans, and building enhanced improvement plans to achieve the 54M improvement target.

  • Collect and analyze data, together with business transformation leaders to identify new opportunities for improvement.

  • Assess plans from all BU to ensure they tie to and underpin improvement plan in each BU

  • Coordinate and lead effective CONQ project meetings with each BU and reporting meetings with BG senior leadership team

Operational Excellence - Chief of Staff

  • Lead effective process for planning activities such as resource planning, business portfolio roadmap, and LEAN interventions.

  • Lead continuous improvement in team efficiency such as staff meeting, daily management, linked goals, project manage team improvement projects, resolving roadblocks

  • Run staff meetings by managing agenda, inputs and following up on outputs

  • Lead in effective communication within team

  • Key leader for R&D lean deployment via our product technical leadership

Your team

You will work with cross functional teams in close relationship to the MT, challenging and partnering with R&D, Q&R, Continuous Improvement.

In this role you will report to the Director of Business Progam Office for the Business Unit Imaging Components.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Technical Degree (Engineering, Quality)

  • 6-10 years relevant experience in an international matrix organizationAt least 3 years experience continuous improvement/ lean/ six sigmaAt least 3 years experience in project management

  • Attitude and mind-set to drive bold changes (business culture and personal mind-set) through the organization

  • Strong communication skills, ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally, written messages and presentations with both factory workers, engineers, and upper management including the CEO

  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to do data analysis and come to fact-based conclusions from various data input sources

  • Ability to lead international cross-functional (virtual) teams

  • Result focused, high energy level, eager to challenge status quo and reach ambitious goals

  • Proficiency in English language required, additional German, Mandarin, Dutch welcome
