Currently we have the opportunity for a dynamic Rewards Specialist to join the team in Johannesburg and be responsible for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa market.

As a Rewards Specialist you will be responsible for roll out and execution of rewards processes in line with HR policies, practices and processes in Philips across the META region. This role is the total rewards COE role.

You will report to the Rewards Leader – META.

You are responsible for

  • Timely execution of rewards processes and procedures such as (but not limited to) preparation for Annual Compensation Review Cycle, conducting Market Benchmarking Studies on Compensation & Benefits in partnership with Survey providers and internal key stakeholders and suggest improvements in C&B policies in a collaborative way,

  • Specifing new processes, standards based on rewards strategy and setting tactical plans and policy guidelines,

  • Ensuring that reward plans are in line with established rewards policies and local legislation requirements in each country of operation,

  • Developing and updating salary structures to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness,

  • Working with all the stakeholder like TA, Business Partners, HR Shared services to manage and improve C&B related processes,

  • Developing and managing country specific C&B related polices,

  • Providing support on assigned global/local C&B programs and projects.

Key Performance Indicators

  • First time data quality and accuracy,

  • Timely execution of all reward processes,

  • Rewards dashboard reporting with detailed analysis and recommendation.

  • Country & Sector HRMs,

  • HR Shared Services and/or PPS centers,

  • Finance,

  • Talent Acquisition (TA) partners,

  • Global Rewards and Processes Team.


  • Salary survey providers

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Master’s degree with majors in Human Resource Management or Finance,

  • Strong numerical and advanced analytical skills with an ability to slice data and present a meaningful outcome by using advanced MS Excel and/or any other statistical analysis tools,

  • 5-7 years of hands on experience in compensation and benefits management with a reputable Multinational organization or in a consulting firm such as Mercer, Willis Towers Watson or Korn Ferry,

  • Certified Global Remuneration Practitioner (GRP),

  • Hands on experience of working with online compensation planning modules with any of these ERP solutions ( SAP, Oracle PeopleSoft or Workday ),

  • Fluent in English , verbal and written,

  • Sound knowledge and technical know-how of pay-range design, pay-mix, market pricing, salary structures, salary planning and budgeting, cost projections and impact analysis of C&B policies and understanding of different job grading methodologies,

  • Good understanding of pay and benefits practices in Africa, Middle East and Turkey.
