Philips Ultrasound Field Service Engineer (Home-Based: Lincoln, NE) in Lincoln, Massachusetts

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Field Service Engineer will administer on-site customer service activities including technical, clinical and business matters with an assigned customer base. The FSE will also support the sales organization; participate in program implementations, support the ISR in plan renewal sales and meet customer retention objectives. The FSE will provide in field OJT training to new FE’s, critical account support and assist the Regional Service Manager.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A: Essential Functions

Perform installation/removal of ultrasound equipment hardware, software, and network.

Perform first call remedial repairs and timely Quality Assurance Audits of ultrasound equipment.

Assist the ISR in selling renewal Support Plans.

On-site support of sales demo equipment, clinical trials and trade shows.

Utilize inventory effectively.

Maintain field inventory, parts usage, and timely return of defective material.

Maintain customer files, manuals, publications and company property.

Provide basic clinical in-service on product installation, updates and enhancements.

Implement quality objectives into business practices.

· Maintain accurate and timely work orders.

· Provide in field on the job training for new FE’s.

· Provide regional critical customer support as assigned.

Adherence to Quality requirements (FDA and ISO 9000).

Participate in field CustomerCare teams.

Work cooperatively with internal team members.

· Provide back up coverage for other FSE’s territories when required

Other duties as assigned.

QUANTITATIVE DIMENSIONS:

· Timely completion of QAA/upgrades and remedial repairs. QAA /Upgrade report.

· Work order close outs are accurate and timely. OWO report.

· Weekly RCA report.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Problem solving skills and technical ability with field experience preferred.

Excellent customer communication and interpersonal skills preferably demonstrated in a customer service environment.

Proven selling and presentation skills.

Advanced knowledge and experience with Windows based computer applications.

Effective time management and organizational skills.

Demonstrated clinical proficiency in all basic ultrasound applications.

· Ability to provide training and development of other ATL personnel.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND/OR TRAINING:

BA /BS degree plus four years of similar experience or an AA degree or equivalent training from other technically accredited schools with seven years similar experience. Proven high performance from previous employment will be considered toward equivalent training criteria.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Willing and able to spend up to 80% of available time auto/air travel

· Must posses a valid drivers license

· 7/24 availability

Must be able to safely move objects weighing a minimum of 50 lb.

Philips is seeking a field service engineer to support their Ultrasound business to be based in the Lincoln, NE area (covering from Lincoln to the West border of NE). This position will be responsible for customer relationship management through the effective use of technical knowledge to install, service, and maintain customer sites.

• Assist in service repair, preventative maintenance, field change orders / installations.

• Identification and resolution of customer issues, providing the customer with the appropriate communication and involving appropriate Service and Sales Personnel

• Operate under required knowledge of regulatory requirement (Federal and State Radiation performance standards, registration, Quality Systems Regulations, EPA regulations and OSHA regulations

• Defines problems: Collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions. Has the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

• BSEE/BSEET preferred, or two year formal education combined with appropriate high tech related experience

• Demonstrated repair and troubleshooting skills with Ultrasound Equipment

•Ability to rotate on-call status

• Must possess a valid driver’s license

• Travel up to 50% to the customer site, zone office or identified meeting locations.

o Average driving is 1 to 4 hours daily.

• Carries or pulls up to 40 lbs. of test equipment.

• Lift parts or carries parts weighing a few ounces to over 100 lbs. (assistance available when lifting items over 50 lbs).

• Frequently bends, stoops, twists, turns, and works in unusual positions using full body mobility.

• May work from ladders or scaffolding, on occasion.

This position will require you to meet all customer specific mandates such as vaccinations and or screening tests.
