Philips Junior Transport Specialist (EMEA Region; Import) in Lodz, Poland


As a Junior Transportation Specialist role you will have opportunity to draw up & maintain the transportation plan for finished products, within a short term time frame. You will calculate the transport capacity and draw up the transport plan on a short term basis, elaborate the transport plan per destination, fill the logistic system for each destination and calculate the need of transports. You will a part of a Global Transportation Management which takes care of the transport infrastructure to ensure that all Philips product will reach the customers within contractual agreed lead times, at the most cost effective service, un-damaged and the correct destination.

Your responsibilities:

  • Operational monitoring on global level of the shipments

  • Maintenance of the correct master data in TMS

  • Coordination and communication of deviations between factory, market and logistic service providers

  • Drive process standardization in the factories and markets

  • Ensure executional compliance and quality of the delivery

  • Implement and drive global logistics processes standardization

You are a part of our Global Competence Center in Łódź, where we centralize our business processes. We bring together supporting roles within HR, Finance, Procurement, Customer Service, Supply Chain and other, enabling you to have a career in an international, cross functional environment. Your future colleagues speak 25+ languages and represent 15+ different nationalities, supporting our operations in 50 countries on a daily basis.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain with focus on Logistics/Transportation

  • Previous relevant experience (1-3 years’) in the transport world; either as shipper or as carrier or Freight Forwarder/or certification)

  • Evidence of excellent communication skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels, both internally and within the service providers

  • Good working knowledge of MS office applications; knowledge of SAP and TMS System will be an asset

  • Fluent level of English is essential

  • Additional language (German, French or Spanish) would be an advantage
