In this role, you have the opportunity to
Lead procurement-engineering activities for Philips in the Sleep & Respiratory Care (S&RC) business Unit. You will be a business partner that teams with innovation teams to leverage the global procurement footprint in early phase innovation, product development and life cycle management phases of products/solutions.
You are responsible to
Influence and increase value propositions by fully understanding our customer’s preferences and bringing supply side possibilities and commercial strength to innovation teams.
Fully understand product/solution requirements and translate them to industrialized solutions during the PDLM cycle.
Continuously and relentlessly, drive for increased feature value and concept cost optimization during the product life cycle.
Scout, promote and ensure early supplier involvement and influence on innovation cycles/sprints.
Contract administration and oversight of commercial aspects of outsourced innovation and development investment.
Create and maintain sourcing strategies to support business units
Motivate feature value workshops/conventions for the assigned business.
Drive savings through total cost of ownership investments, to include negotiation, concept and sourcing optimization.
Organize and employ DFx methodologies and tools, create alignment across disciplines with respect to opportunity identification and execution.
Provide should-cost/actual cost assessments. Drive request for quotation and proposal process
Translate SRC business requirements to commodity teams and supply base to motivate strong supplier selection decisions.
Support the supplier quality organization to assure the advanced product quality planning process (APQP), including compliance and sustainability aspects.
Provide data and information during projects/sprints to improve decision making
Support price and supplier relationship negotiations with fact-based information.
Scout for new and innovative industrial footprint that that will enable BU success.
You are a part of
The Philips global procurement organization teaming with the Sleep and Respiratory Advanced Development and Business units to bring Innovative ideas to market. You function as a core team member on innovation teams and interact in a way to bring “external” resources from market and Bill of Material commodity base to bare on Philips innovation program.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
BS or comparable diploma in a technical field, Business education preferred, relevant experience considered.
Experience in new product development innovation and PDLM environments.
Manufacturing process and or operations expertise
Experience working in consumer and regulated environments preferred
An understanding of innovation, PDLM and Dfx methodologies.
Comfortable with domestic and/or international travel; (up to 40%).
