Philips Documentation Specialist-Engineering Department in Murrysville, Pennsylvania


In this role, you have the opportunity to

Assist the Engineers with non-repetitive assignments and performs tasks that are standard and supervised. Operates relatively autonomous within procedures, methods and techniques. Information on assignments is not always complete and leaves some scope for own interpretation; makes own choice of approach and chooses from known solutions based upon technical knowledge.

You are responsible for:

  • Support efforts to improve quality, efficiency, capacity, and safety of Murrysville assembly and test processes through the use of lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement techniques. This work will include identification and implementation of error proofing techniques in manufacturing.

  • Support product engineering launches and improvements for less complex products, which include developing manufacturing plans, creating or modifying manufacturing documentation, and training assembly associates.

  • Assist in developing / modifying, validating, and implementing less complex manufacturing processes and equipment, which includes leading and/or coordinating pilot runs.

  • Create and/or update the following manufacturing documents used for assembly, packaging, and testing procedures.

  • Create and/or modify support validation activities and documents.

  • Work with Manufacturing Engineer and Operations to set kanbans up for new components.

  • Create facility layout drawings to support all minor and major production line/equipment/workstation layouts to meet current and future needs of the organization

  • Complete any special tasks or duties as assigned by your Supervisor/Manager.

You are a part of:

The Philips Sleep & Respiratory Care (SRC) business, which exists to restore natural sleep and breathing. You will be part of the Manufacturing Technologies team in the Murrysville, PA location.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent OR a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an area of specialization.

  • Medical device manufacturing background preferred.

  • Experience in Respironics' training, pilot run, and change notice processes preferred.

  • Familiarity with SAP preferred

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) is required

  • Familiarity with CAD packages is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Respironics Quality and Regulatory processes is preferred.
