In this role, you have the opportunity to
develop and execute performance testing strategy around a cloud based Enterprise Application in an Agile development environment. Applicants should have strong understanding of best practices in performance testing methodologies and be able to understand and write software in Java.
You are responsible for
Engaging with Scrum teams to understand the features they are developing and build performance test criteria around those features.
Running the performance tests on a production-like system to identify areas that might be problematic in terms of system performance and responsiveness. Successful candidates will need a keen eye to identify problematic areas using monitoring tools such as New Relic and profiling tools such as JProfiler.
Working closely with a complementary off-shore Performance Team in our Innovation Center in Bangalore, India.
Drilling into the code to identify root cause and partner with the feature teams to resolve issues. This includes collaborating on a solution and potentially editing the Java code.
Creating performance plan(s) and measuring the test coverage of those plans. (These plans will be implemented using JMeter, Selenium, NewStar etc.)

Philips will be relocating at http://www.post-gazette.com/business/development/2018/06/28/Sleep-Respiratory-Care-Business-anchor-Bakery-Square-development-Pittsburgh/stories/201806280097 this office to a new site in Bakery Square at http://bakery-square.com/neighborhood/ , one of the premier locations in Pittsburgh. This is a very exciting time to be joining Philips, as this new location will be the Sleep & Respiratory Center of Excellence. The new office is set to open in late 2020.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science or similar technical field
Minimum of 5 years of experience using automated test tools for Functional and/or Performance Stability, Reliability and Scalability.
Experience using Jmeter/Blazemeter and Selenium.
Experience with a profiling tools such as JProfiler.
Hands-on experience with performance monitoring tools such as New Relic APM
Experience with object oriented programming languages such as Java and Spring framework, especially Spring Boot.
Hands-on experience with performance testing of Distributed REST Based Java Applications.
Ability to develop and review performance test plan and test scenarios
Strong skills in test results analysis and review
Strong defect identification and triaging skills
Experience working in Unix based environments

The follow skills are not required, but highly desired;
Experience with cloud based systems (AWS or equivalent).
Experience with Messaging System (RabbitMQ or equivalent)
Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
