Philips EDI Analyst in Nashville, Tennessee


In this role, you have the opportunity to

Serve as a core EDI Analyst within our Government Services Division (GSD) supporting stakeholders such as Operations, Sales, Contracts, IT, Accounting and other business partners. This team is responsible for updating accounts accurately and in a timely manner to ensure the end user is not at risk and there are no billing implications.

You are responsible for

  • Supporting various standard EDI transactions

  • Ensuring interfaces are performing as designed

  • Collaborating with payer, clearinghouses and/or trading partners to successfully maintain the EDI processes

  • Ensuring data integrity

  • Solving EDI incidents/problems and actively managing and communicating issues

  • Managing the resolution process as needed

  • Exchanging information and share knowledge with the team to maximize understanding and the effectiveness

  • Working cooperatively with Government Services Division (GSD) Billing staff to ensure that EDI requirements are being met on a daily basis

  • Escalating prolonged EDI issues to GSD manager

  • Working proactively to establish new EDI partners by working with current non-EDI payers

  • Maintaining excellent relationships with 3rd party vendors

  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required and/or assigned

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s in Business Information Systems, Accounting or related course of study preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in medical billing, preferably with Medicaid and Managed Care reimbursement.

  • 2+ years working in EDI production support environment

  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end EDI processes with proven hands-on experience

  • Experience with troubleshooting/problem resolution, and handling on boarding requests

  • In depth knowledge of HIPAA, 835, 837, 270,271, 278 and other healthcare EDI standard formats

  • Detail oriented & efficiency-minded; good at finding ways to improve processes and operations

  • Must be technically savvy and comfortable using software, including, but not limited to:

  • billing software, MS Office, Insurance Portals, and Electronic Claims Submissions.

  • High aptitude to learn new programs, system integrations, and business processes

  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP and similar Network/Communications Protocols

  • Excellent customer service skills with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong work ethic with proven track record of accuracy, dependability and consistency

  • Must be able to think independently, have strong problem solving skills, and have a continuous improvement mentality.

  • Ability to gain the cooperation of others in pursuit of company goals
