Philips Pricing and Market Demand Planner in Nashville, Tennessee

Your Challenge:

The APM pricing manager will develop strategies for market pricing by evaluating consumer trends to optimize revenues from medical parts sales. To be successful in this field, Pricing and Demand planner must have strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, mathematical and analytical skills. As their job requires that they work with various departments, Pricing Manager will be a team player with strong leadership and project management capabilities. A good sense of finance or accounting principles is important for this position.

Responsible for monitoring market trends in all business segments, Examples:

  • ISO: Aramark, RES, Crothall, Sodexo

  • Dealers: Small ISO’s like Alpha Imaging, UMS that also sells equipment

  • dealer groups: IAMERS

  • GPO: Novation, Premier, Med Assets, AmeriNet

  • Integrated Delivery Network: CCF, Univ Rochester, UPMC, TJU, Ohio Health, Ohio State, UH, Partners Healthcare System, New York-Presbyterian,

Manage transactional pricing and contract sales in order to maximize product distribution; i.e.; make sure strategic customers control appropriate business segments. Manage the pricing in the system, with discounts based on volume.

Functional Responsibilities and Job Profile

APM Specific

  • Develop and maintain pricing for individual parts within PW3

  • Grow total gross margin dollars by identifying pricing actions that encourage higher sale values, conversion rates, inelasticity, margin rates, and customer satisfaction

  • Forecast margins to help the business understand the impact of promotional and seasonal pricing

  • Monitor input costing changes and develop sensitivity analysis thresholds to provide reporting on potential changes to finished goods prices

  • Present pricing analysis at a monthly strategy meeting, with insights, trends, and suggestions

  • Communicate and help implement pricing changes bidirectionally through the command chain

  • Lead pricing-related projects including establishing timelines, defining deliverables, and drafting communications or presentations

  • Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the industry via information obtained from financial publications and services, government agencies, company sources, and personal interviews

  • Assist R&D efforts with market views and feedback

Functional Responsibility:

  • Maintain accurate and competitive pricing that meets the objectives for the product line.

  • Develop pricing strategy based on sales trends, competitive environment, revenue goals, or cost of good changes.

  • Maintain and process air file revisions & SBT air mark-ups and coordinate the implementation of land component changes through DLRA system to change pricing strategy or implement weekly pricing.

  • Manage flight inventory to achieve highest potential seat utilization and yield.

  • Monitor seat inventory and class of service availability daily and make appropriate adjustments in line with revenue management goals.

  • Communicate product financial performance and coordinate with teams to ensure actions/strategy in place to address.

  • Perform competitive analysis and necessary actions as it affects the region.

  • Analyze sales trends and profits to measure regional goals for all vacation products for assigned origins or destinations.

  • Be accountable for monitoring, tracking, and achieving regional goals. Communicate weekly updates on goals to appropriate team members.

  • Communicate goals to team members, delegate tasks to obtain these goals. Provide support by example.

  • Assist in forecast process for origins and destinations.

  • Provide input regarding sales and margin goals and expense parameters.

  • Assist in price strategy, product elements, and successful build of all vacation products.

  • Ensure quality development of product design for origin.

  • Support of hotel utilization goals and development/communication of specific needs necessary

To succeed in this role, you will need the following experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field; preferably economics, finance, statistics, or marketing, plus 5+ years of medical market experience

  • 5+ years of proven experience in data analysis roles; ideally pricing and/or market demand planning roles

  • Knowledge of computer spreadsheets and word processing programs. Strong Excel experience is key.

  • Knowledge of basic marketing principles and financial analysis.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and operate effectively within a team environment

  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills

  • Good time management skills

  • Ability to work well under stress and manage multiple projects at one time.

  • Ability to solve problems under time constraints
