Philips Brand and Communications Manager, Malaysia in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Act as the Communications Lead for Philips in Malaysia, to represent the organization to stakeholders, interested parties, and the public. To serve as the company spokesperson to the media and the general public. To develop and distribute materials that may explain or convey the company's policies or position on issues. To work in close collaboration with senior leaders and country management team.

You are responsible for:

  • Managing all external communications activities for Malaysia that have an impact on the Philips brand and reputation.

  • Working in close collaboration with various business sector leads to establish a clear plan and cadence for communications and some branding initiatives.

  • Establishing and ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.

  • Managing local PR agencies and/or other related agencies. Formulates the medium term policy for sub discipline and processes results into a strategic plan.

  • Developing, modifying and executing communications campaigns and programs that serve business priorities and that lead to measurable results.

  • Establishing operational objectives and work plans, and working in close collaboration with peers in other functions and countries on execution.

  • Working on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.

  • Implementing strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Working in close collaboration with country management team on internal communications initiatives and campaigns.

  • Regularly interacting with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, external stakeholders and/or customers.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience :

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree (Marketing communications or equivalent).

  • Possesses over 7 years of related work experience in areas such as corporate communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, etc.

  • Good understanding of the local media and political landscape

  • Strong stakeholder management experience; Maturity to engage with senior management teams within the organization, including external stakeholders.

  • Organizational Savviness; Ability to operate at all levels within the organization and cross functionally within a complex and matrix environment.

  • Relationship Builder; Ability to work effectively with and manage key vendors in the ecosystem, as well as internal stakeholders, at all levels.

  • Excellent verbal, written, content development, and presentation skills

  • Strong teamwork and program/project management skills.

  • Drive and commitment to results with minimum supervision
