Philips Marketing Intelligence/Financial Analyst in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Be the go-to person for market analytics, providing key strategic insights into market and business performance. You will use these insights to make recommendations regarding potential business opportunities to internal stakeholders.

You are responsible for

  • Maintain and continually update current market size, share and growth models for six separate business units (Sleep Therapy, PI, Oxygen, Ventilation, Respiratory Drug Delivery, Hospital Respiratory Care and Healthy Sleep Solutions) for key geographical markets (17 total as outlined in Task 2) and update dashboards accordingly.

  • Work with Philips Market Analysis and Forecasting team (MA&F) to validate and update market models and validate share. Work with Finance to validate earnings by segment and market.

  • Support research of new market opportunities, market penetration strategies and new product development (business case) opportunities and develop models from that research.

  • Perform detailed variance analysis against budget, forecast, prior periods, or other benchmarks.

  • Responsible for analyzing competitive results and developing models to compare results to Philips SRC performance.

  • Responsible for analyzing and consolidating learning for Investor Relations for understanding SRC performance vs the market.

This position resides in the Sleep and Respiratory Care (SRC) division of Philips. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for at-risk individuals in the home through better awareness, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and management of their conditions.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • MBA Required

  • Experience in developing market and financial models to understand complex markets is required.

  • Financial analysis and planning background and experience a must.

  • Since this position requires model development in international markets, you must also have experience working with or working in markets outside the U.S.

  • Excellent analytical thinking and ability to analyze and interpret large amounts of information to synthesize insights (e.g., from financial reports, SEC filings and internal sales records).

  • Ability to use your strong written and verbal skills to communicate to various levels of the organization.

  • Must be confident and self-motivating in order to engage internal stakeholders.

  • Strong critical thinking to identify and synthesize patterns from emerging trends.

  • Ability to work both independently and within a multi-disciplinary cross-functional team.

  • Advanced Excel experience a must; pivot tables, and Sales Force, SAP experience

  • Experience using business analytics tools (SAP) for querying internal and external databases.

  • Ability to work with the Market Intelligence and Analyst team for competitive intelligence and earnings call reporting to management

  • Some commercial financial experience helpful.
