Philips Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Health, Wellness, Digital Therapeutics) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Be an integral member our Advanced Innovation team where you will develop new-to-world health, wellness and medical solutions in the areas of Sleep and Respiratory Care.

You are responsible for

  • Drive innovation by building rapid prototypes for experimentation

  • Leveraging statistics, natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML) techniques to create scalable solutions for business problems, customer engagement and personalized solutions

  • Developing and implementing predictive models for real-time predictions

  • Building real-time software applications using latest technologies

  • Collaborating directly with universities, research institutes and industry experts in the field to leverage their guidance and expertise to solve customer needs

  • Analyzing and extracting relevant information from large amounts data (structured and unstructured) to help define customer needs and solutions

  • Designing, experimenting and evaluating highly innovative models for predictive learning

  • Partnering with marketing, design and research staff to optimize operations and solutions using AI and NLP

You are a part of

Our Sleep and Respiratory Care organization. We specialize in the use of data to anticipate customer needs, create technology solutions for customer engagement, and individualize customer experiences. Successful candidates, must relish change, respond to challenges and be creative. Startup, small company or entrepreneurial experience or attitude desired along with broad software application experience, data analytics, and people skills.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (Ph.D. is a plus) in computer science, mathematical science, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering or related technical discipline required

  • 4+ years of software development experience required using Java or Python

  • Solid machine learning and natural language processing background with a strong backing of technical projects showing leadership and initiative

  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, DyNet, Keras is a plus

  • Strong business problem solving ability
