Philips Sr Manager, Services Ops in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

In this role, you have the opportunity to

lead all Operations activities related to introducing a new product into technical service production. The individual is responsible for creating and managing a team that spans insource and multiple global outsource service operations functions including service material demand planning, service supply chain & logistics, process infrastructure, procurement, service supplier quality, life cycle planning, packaging, shipping, subsidiary operations.

You are responsible for

  • Accountable for selection, qualification, contract negotiation, sourcing, supplier quality management, supplier development and relationship management, and supplier integration for externally sourced goods and services in support of medical device servicing.

  • Identify and manage supplier / subcontract risks and ensure that appropriate contingency planning is in place.

  • Ensure that the organization buys in and understands the costs, benefits and risks of selected medical device servicing suppliers.

  • Foster early supplier involvement and ensure supplier requirements and expertise are included in the product service design process, as appropriate.

  • Manage the legal framework (contracts, agreements, etc.) to enable the sourcing of medical device servicing. This includes determining appropriate contract type and incentive structures, terms and conditions, and pricing.

  • Negotiate contractual terms and ensure contractual requirements are clear and well understood.

  • Manage all raw material (developmental and production) including long lead parts.

  • Ensure supplier requirements are identified and achieved across all phases of the program.

  • Optimize costs across the supply base.

  • Establish and maintain an understanding of the services marketplace to ensure appropriate service operations processes are deployed in key markets

  • Ensure compliance of service processes with the Philips Respironics Quality System and all applicable requirements to also include product field actions and delivery holds.

  • Develop and maintain accountability for AOP targets.

  • Responsible for effective and efficient process validation within service depot.

  • Accountable to develop, report, and improve on financial and operational key performance indicators for service depot.

  • Develop and utilize service career ladders and paths to build an engaged work environment and ensure that the skills and talents of each associate are utilized.

  • Build effective relationships with Philips Respironics customers.

  • Manage service asset management and product obsolescence programs.

  • Lead efforts to share best practices service operations excellence and quality improvement.

  • Manage service demand planning for spare parts used in all service related repair activities.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • BS degree is required. An Engineering, Technical, or Business Degree is preferred. An advanced technical or business degree is a plus.

  • Prior leadership experience is required, with 5+ years of direct supervisory or business area accountabilities in and operations environment such as service, manufacturing, customer service, procurement, distribution or logistics, preferred.

  • Exposure to electro-mechanical or high tech products is preferred.

  • Prior experience with durable medical equipment and FDA or ISO compliant systems is a plus.

  • Experience managing remote locations.
