In this role, you have the opportunity to
be part of global team which manages high impact, complex transfer projects that enables Philips to reduce risk, improve profitability, align with Philips’ strategic supply base and optimize supply chain flexibility. Your primary function is to ensure that our product development/R&D team follows system development lifecycle process (V model) and lead systems-level product development, owning design specifications and verifications that complies with related medical device regulations/standards (FDA, IEC, etc.) and internal quality management/design control processes.
As a Systems Engineer at Philips, you are responsible for the correct translation of business and user need/requirements into product requirements, product requirement to system and design specifications. In addition, you team up with subject matter experts to set correct component/ part requirements. you will be responsible for the product verification and validation strategy and drafting relevant protocols as well as:
Translating business need/user requirements to product requirements.
Product requirement to system and design specifications.
Teaming up with Subject matter experts, reliability experts and R&D to develop product/ system verification and validation strategy.
Drafting relevant test protocols to verify design requirements
Reviewing verification results to confirm product/design requirements are met.
Identifying and mitigating areas of technical risk by following the product design FMEA process/Fault tree analysis methods.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Biomedical Engineering, preferred
5+ years’ experience in a product development environment
Requirement management focus using DOORS or a similar system [preferred]
Experience describing systems requirements, requirement tracing to subsystems and interface requirements
Verification and Validation strategy demonstrated by either coursework or work in industry
Performing Verification and Validation testing demonstrated by either coursework or work in industry
Knowledge of Six Sigma methods and tools
Good communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated technical abilities in coordinating development efforts of a highly technical group
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Able to adapt quickly to change and work in a rapidly evolving environment
