IGT-D Minneapolis Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Technician

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Execute in the startup of a new manufacturing center of excellence in Minnesota. You will be in on the ground floor building a strong manufacturing engineering team and initially driving the validation of a world-class production facility, beginning with a Class III combination device. Longer-term focus will be on driving process innovation and product industrialization for new product development, and executing product transfers across sites.

You are responsible for:

  • Preparing necessary protocols, performing necessary experimentation and completing reports to support engineers in various activities such as process development, characterization and qualification for new products.

  • Generating engineering documentation and drawings for processes, tools and equipment

  • Assisting in obtaining and installing equipment to support pilot and production lines

  • Support pilot production prototype builds for new product development

  • Providing in-depth knowledge for problem solving and productivity improvement activities for Manufacturing processes and equipment

  • Helping create Work Instructions/Manufacturing Process Instructions

  • Supporting and helping train maintenance on preventive and corrective solutions for equipment and processes

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Associates degree in technical field or 5+ years equivalent experience

  • 3+ total years’ experience in a technician role in a highly regulated industry (medical devices or pharmaceutical strongly preferred)

  • Experience with hand tools, power tools (drill, drill press, mill, lathe, etc), multimeters, 3D prototyping, automated assembly equipment

  • Experience creating prototype fixtures

  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office, MRP, Doc Control Software

  • Experience with cleanroom or controlled environment room

  • Ability to detect potential problems and recommend corrective actions

  • Working knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma preferred

  • Proficiency in CAD is expected (SolidWorks preferred). Knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and inspection techniques.

  • Intermediate proficiency using a statistics software (Minitab, MATLAB, etc) preferred
