In this role, you have the opportunity to

Execute in the startup of a newly acquired manufacturing center of excellence in Minnesota. You will be in on the ground floor building a strong manufacturing engineering team and initially driving the renovation, installation, and validation of a world-class production facility, beginning with a Class III combination device. Longer-term focus will be on driving process improvement and ensuring excellent quality and delivery levels to our customers.

You are responsible for:

  • Applying lean manufacturing principles to improve quality, delivery, and cost.

  • Creating Quality Control Plan and Work Instructions.

  • Overseeing equipment installation and supporting ramp-up of production lines at the site.

  • Implementing design and process changes as required to support production, including required process validation and process risk management activities.

  • Identifying and executing improvements in manufacturing processes, tools and equipment. This for quality and efficiency improvements.

  • Applying lean manufacturing principles to improve quality, delivery, and cost.

  • Initiating Capex optimization for repeat investments to support capacity.

  • Obtaining and installing repeat equipment at the site to support capacity.

  • Defining production related Manufacturing requirements for new products.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • BS Engineering degree, advanced degree preferred

  • 3+ years’ experience in expanding engineering roles (manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, etc.) in a highly regulated industry (medical devices or pharmaceutical strongly preferred)

  • Successful record of accomplishment executing manufacturing or new product development projects or improvement opportunities (timelines, quality, capacity, capability, cost, productivity some key metrics).

  • Strong leadership skills (change management, communications, building rapport and executing within a complex matrixed organization)

  • Demonstrated ability in Lean, Six Sigma, and DfX methodologies (certification preferred)

  • An expert in change control processes

  • Project management and coaching / mentoring junior engineers

  • Proficiency in CAD is expected (SolidWorks preferred).

  • Effectively communicates to numerous stakeholders including senior management, other Business Groups, production personnel and leaders, internal and/or external customers and staff.

  • Proficient with FDA QSR/cGMP and ISO13485 requirements to maintain commitment to environmental and quality regulations.
