In this role, you have the opportunity to
Help drive the startup of a newly acquired manufacturing center of excellence in Minnesota. You will be in on the ground floor setting up the supply chain and supporting product builds to achieve regulatory approvals and commercial product, beginning with a Class III combination device. Longer-term focus will be on leading the OMM team supporting the ongoing operations and driving Customer Demand Fulfilment by ensuring material availability in the supply chain.
You are responsible for:
Lead all OMM operational activities, related processes and staff in the development and execution of a high-performing operational team.
Accountable for material cost, short and long-term assurance of supply, material availability for production/shipments, supplier delivery performance, compliance to the quality system as well as all purchasing related information and data management.
Manage the availability of material through the proper material master data setup, capacity planning and purchase order management with internal and external suppliers, and mitigate in case of supply risks and issues.
Develop programs, projects, goals and metrics for the OMM organization leading to the appropriate level of operational performance, Inventory Optimization; Indirect effectiveness & efficiency; Assurance of Supply improvements ultimately reducing number of supply issues to the market.
Responsible for sharing of best practices, training of team members and compliance with OMM processes and standards in alignment with the ISC organization.
Partner with operations, procurement and suppliers to create a process flow of materials into the warehouse, driving efficiency and effectiveness of receiving and inventory storage.
Actively driving integration across the E2E value chain by identifying key drivers of value and influencing others to work cross functionally to increase operational excellence and customer value.
Establish a responsive, agile supply chain, by translating supply chain strategy into processes and policies.
Establish components inventory management process, to include, but not limited to, managing safety stock levels, new BOM items inventory, parts inventory, etc. Set and manage annual inventory reduction target.
Support new component planning and purchasing for new products.
Manage/support introduction of new components into production through phase-in activities.
Manages phase-in/phase-out product activities in close coordination with cross-functional New Product Introduction teams to ensure effective and efficient execution
Play a key role in maintaining and effectively utilizing planning tools in ERP system. Work with the Global OMM Team in implementation of ERP supply chain parameters for effective MRP planning.
Provide functional leadership for programs & activities to ensure continuous supply of material to meet production / delivery plans throughout the product life cycle.
Conducting tactical material planning (forecast and handshake feedback) with internal and external suppliers, in an optimized way through the use of planning calculation methods
Executing operational material planning and Purchase Order management
Identifying supply risks and issues, driving mitigation actions and escalate if needed
Ensuring master data settings to enable touchless replenishment
Driving continuous harmonization and improvement of material supply processes ensuring Philips Global Processes execution
Monitoring and securing supplier delivery performance
Ensuring follow up in materials life cycle, securing in time availability and prevention of obsolescence
Conducting inventory analysis and policy definition to secure material availability against minimum inventory investments
Key performance indicators include Cost of non-Quality (excess and obsolete inventory) and Customer Service Level / Delivery (fill rates / OTTR) and Supplier delivery performance
Ensure compliance with SOX, GMP, ISO, trade compliance and all quality, safety and regulatory requirements
Build capabilities on Philips Excellence Practices: Awareness and Lean Foundation
Create and manage budget for department To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelors or Master degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant discipline
7 plus years’ experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain and/or Planning in a highly regulated, high volume industry (medical devices or pharmaceutical strongly preferred)
ERP system experience required; Hands-on experience with SAP/MES preferred
Strong communication skills, ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders (suppliers)
Familiarity or certification in Lean methodologies
Proficient with FDA QSR/cGMP and ISO13485 requirements to maintain commitment to environmental and quality regulations
