Philips Director - Global Hardware Leader in Pune, India


In this role, you have the opportunity to be a global leader of the Hardware Engineering function in Diagnostic XRay Business of Philips and responsible for Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Displays and Image Chain Components. Owner of the Hardware platform and R&D owner of the supplier management with all HW, Electro Mechanical and Image chain suppliers across the world. Primary interface to Operations and Procurement engineering from R&D

You are responsible for

  • Responsible for the people management and competence development for HW Engineering departments globally (Pune and Suzhou).

  • Creation and maintenance of HW platform strategy and architecture roadmap for all HW subsystems

  • Align the HW Platform strategy with Procurement engineering and Supply chain / Operations organizations for efficient supply base strategy in relation to the platform strategy

  • Responsible for the execution of HW subsystems projects within the scope of NPI and LCM with right quality, reliability, functionality and within time & budget (10ME per year globally)

  • R&D representative for the Business Review meeting of all external suppliers in the area of Mechatronics, PCBA, Displays, Controls and Imaging components

  • DXR owner of the business review meeting with Image Chain Business unit

  • As a global leader, ensure common way of working between all HW sites of DXR.

  • Primary responsible for BOM Productivity and Localization programs from R&D

  • Part of global R&D leadership team and contribute to overall R&D strategy and technology policy.

You are a part of DXR R&D Management team reporting directly to the Global R&D Leader. You will represent the Hardware engineering function in the Philips global forums and industry.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering with many years of proven experience in R&D Management

  • Experienced in creating and maintaining hardware and mechatronics platforms

  • In depth knowledge on Lean, Agile and problem solving methodologies.

  • Experienced in working with Operations, Procurement and global supply base.

  • Analytical, creative and abstract thinker.

  • Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) on different levels.

  • Able to drive changes across sites and cultures
