Philips R&D Program Manager in Pune, India


In this role, you have the opportunity to drive and execute the multiple Life cycle Maintenance projects /program spanning across functions within Philips DXR business. This role will ensure we in DXR follow the MLD process to deliver quality product / solution on time and meeting all Business KPIs.

You are responsible for:

  • Lead cross–functional project core team. These team includes all functions delivering to project (e.g. Engineering, marketing, Q&R, operations, customer support, Technical publications, Procurement etc as applicable).

  • Manage complete MLD activities ensuring smooth Ramp up, Production continuity ensuring product quality.

  • Drive schedule compliance across all functions and ensure agreed project milestones are secured which includes planning, reporting and Monitoring of resources of the project.

  • Facilitate interaction, manage inter-dependencies & conflict resolution among all functional teams, regardless of geographic region.

  • Communicate project status to Programs Director DXR BU as required through periodic reports and formal program reviews.

  • Identify risks / issues / scope creeps impacting project schedule, quality or cost and mitigate / take corrective action. Highlight these transparently to the BU management team.

  • Responsible for vendor management & interfacing with other programs (delivering or client programs)

  • Encourages partnering: Develops cooperative relationships to achieve Project results through a win – win relationship. Have a mission of trending Improvements over time.

  • Facilitates / Implements/ Contributes Organization wide Project Management Improvement Initiatives

  • Supports team building: Builds mutual trust and encourages respect and cooperation among Cross Functional project Core teams.

Accountability :

  • Accountable for driving on time, on cost, and good quality and other project deliverables as per agreed plan.

  • Accountable for managing all MLD activities and milestones

  • Collaborate with teams on cross functional delivery plans and any changes within ,

  • Overall project execution and product delivery meeting Business KPIs. To build a successful, pro-active project team through effective people management and team coaching in order to create a motivated team, committed to the project assignment.

  • To set up and maintain a strong relationships with internal and external suppliers and to manage timely delivery of products, services and required documentation.

  • To ensure and maintain the required quality through adequate configuration management for product, documentation and process changes.

  • To report project status to the cross-functional Project Core Team in order to identify conflicts and to enable effective decision-making.


  • Finalize overall project planning, scope & execution strategy

  • Decide and implement change management (when required)

You are a part of You are a part of Diagnostic X-Ray R&D team based out of Philips Healthcare Innovation Center (HIC). Philips HIC Pune is a product innovation center for multiple businesses with presence of R&D, Marketing, Customer Service, Procurement, Quality and Manufacturing functions. The center is focused on developing smart and reliable X-ray imaging based Diagnostics and Treatment products with enhanced patient safety to meet the unmet needs of a wide range of global hospital customer base.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Master/Bachelor in Engineering with 15+ years of experience

  • Several years of hands-on experience in leading medical devices / products development / maintenance.

  • 8+ years of Experience in LCM management / Project management is highly preferred.

  • Experience in configuration management, tools and techniques is highly preferred.

  • Fast learner and interest to learn new technologies/business/systems.

  • System thinking mindset

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Team player

  • Leadership skills and drive for results

  • Mindset to simplify and reach to solutions with speed.
