Philips Test Environment Designer in Pune, India


In this role, you have the opportunity to determine the strategy of the Test Environment department, related to the business plans. The Test Environment Lead receives delegated responsibilities from the department manager, in the area of Competence Development (technical & non-technical), hiring & recruitment, coaching, processes, department strategies, resource/ people management, etc. The HSE officer within an HSE unit, implements regulations with regard to health, safety, wellbeing and environment in conformity with the HSE Management System and ensuring compliance. The HSE officer has an initiating, stimulating, informative and supervisory role.

You are responsible for

  • Ensures the availability of the requested test environments and model control human resources in an effective manner.

  • Monitors and controls the test environment configurations and model control human resources

  • Co-determines the department objectives and its related responsibilities based on the business plan.

  • Manages process & tooling/method development (improvement) projects

  • Keeps up to date with technical and organizational developments and takes part actively in contacts within other department within Philips or beyond.

  • Is responsible for benchmarking the department’s knowledge and expertise with other similar departments inside and outside of Philips.

  • Ensures that there is good co-operation with other disciplines and departments

  • Co-responsible for appropriate personnel management (recruitment, appraisal, selection, manpower, career), both Philips as well as temporary employees

  • Prepares capital investment requests for the test Environment.

  • Provides the unit’s MT, departmental management and employees with solicited and unsolicited advice regarding matters relating to Health, Safety and Environment.

  • Represents the unit on the Health & Safety Control Board and Environmental Control Board.

  • Intervenes and if necessary halts activities or seals off rooms in the event of immediate danger to employees.

  • Delegates (in writing) some of his or her tasks and/or powers to one or more HSE Contact Persons

  • Actively supports the unit’s MT in implementing HSE policy in the unit in conformity with PMSN-Best’s HSE Management System.

  • Systematically checks compliance with the HSE regulations and reports to the unit’s MT.

  • Supports HSE certification activities.

  • Advises the unit’s MT regarding new (preventive) measures.

  • Conducts audits and inspections (or arranges for them to be conducted) in accordance with an annual plan and tracks corrective measures.

  • Ensures there is a high-quality RI&E (Risk Inventory & Evaluation) and if necessary takes part in the implementation of the RI&E.

  • Evaluates audit and RI&E reports, then draws up a Plan of Action and monitors the progress of its implementation.

  • Draws up an annual “HSE policy plan” within the unit in line with PMSN’s annual HSE plan.

  • Reports to the unit’s MT and the HSE control boards on the progress of the implementation in the unit of the HSE plan and plan of action.

  • Ensures that employees (including contractors) are instructed in good time and fully by the line management regarding relevant HSE aspects.

  • Checks that training lists relating to HSE are in place in the unit.

  • Is the point of contact in the unit regarding general HSE matters and complaints

  • Investigates accidents, if necessary in collaboration with an HSE expert, and makes recommendations.

  • Plans and guides the implementation of all actions regarding facility management that are necessary to enable the optimum realization of housing projects.

  • Performs emergency response tasks.

  • Broad knowledge of activities performed in unit in question and the procedures followed.

  • Knowledge of the PMS(N) organization.
