In this role, you have the opportunity to:
Support the Ultrasound Transducer business annual operation plan by leading cross-functional procurement activities involving new product introduction, supply chain risk mitigation and productivity improvements. You will be a key partner, achieving new product cost-targets and portfolio cost improvement through analysis of technical product requirements and supplier selection
You are responsible for:
Driving value/cost engineering activities within DFX conventions and Value Engineering workshops, early supplier involvement in development projects, supply chain risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
Supplier selection process in conjunction with commodity management partners.
Developing, communicating, and managing detailed procurement activity schedules that support higher level program schedules, ensuring communication within purchasing and cross functional stake holders.
Partnering with R&D, Supplier Quality for new product introduction and supplier improvement actions
Contributing to the execution of the productivity funnel – collaborating with Supply Chain Engineering, R&D and Supplier Quality to execute cost downs.
Executing and supporting Phase In – Phase Out (PIPO) planning related to new product introductions and concept savings projects
Participating in Supplier assessments & site visits
Aligning Ultrasound procurement needs with competitive landscape and technology road maps.
Supporting commodity management teams with specific product knowledge and opportunities to drive negotiation savings to drive short term and long term product cost reductions.
Providing input for the Make or Buy analysis (in-sourcing / out-sourcing of parts and production)
Managing Product Costs & supplier relationships within assigned commodity.
Developing/maintaining Cost Modeling to achieve challenging cost reduction goals.
You are a part of
Procurement organization supporting the Ultrasound Transducer group.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, MBA preferred.
10+ years’ experience in hardware design and/or matrixed manufacturing with a focus on supply chain and/or procurement related function.
Progressive experience with cost engineering and cost management.
Strong formal project management skills.
Experience with global supplier management– strategic and tactical.
Experience in understanding technical product requirements and translating it to minimize life cycle product cost.
Knowing and understanding of broad business perspectives.
Practical knowledge of Supply Chain management strategies and tools.
Proven ability to manage relationships at all org. levels.
Demonstrated ability in working in a complex/global environment.
Ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional relationships,
Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills, across functions and organizational layers
Demonstrated ability to organize and structure cross functional teams.
