Philips Sr. Downstream Marketing Manager in Saint Paul, Minnesota


In this role, you have the opportunity to

Lead the US downstream marketing team and initiatives for the RespirTech business within the Philips Sleep and Respiratory Care (SRC) business. This critical role is responsible for expanding access to care for patients through driving US growth plans for the business and collaborating closely with US sales and marketing leaders, as well as other key business leaders and teams.

You are responsible for

  • Appropriately staffs and manages the marketing function for current and future business models. Creates, manages and develops a high performance marketing team committed to making a difference for the business and ultimately our patients.

  • Leads the commercialization plans and execution for the RespirTech business. Partners closely with sales, strategic accounts, global marketing, reimbursement, clinical, scientific affairs, regulatory, customer education, quality, legal, reimbursement, finance and strategy in managing the portfolio and prioritizing key initiatives to drive business growth.

  • Leads downstream team in creating annual marketing communications. Partners with sales leadership in understanding market dynamics and aligning strategies to best achieve business growth and success.

  • Through analysis of internal and external variables impacting the business, works closely with sales and marketing partners in developing and managing US pricing strategies.

  • Participates in global portfolio prioritization process representing critical customer and commercial needs. Works closely with upstream marketing in launching new products.

  • Manages the full RespirTech portfolio in the market including forecasting, pricing management, and quality.

  • Prioritizes and manages the downstream marketing budget.

  • Develops KOL relationships and advisors critical to understanding unmet clinical and healthcare business needs and helping determine appropriate initiatives driving business success.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Experience working in a durable medical equipment (DME) environment, bringing a strong understanding of DME-specific business strategy, market development and the critical role of downstream marketing in cross-functional collaboration in driving business success.

  • Consistently work with abstract ideas or situations across functional areas of the business.

  • Through assessment of intangible variables, identifies and evaluates fundamental issues, providing strategy and direction for major functional areas.

  • In-depth knowledge of the functional area, business strategies, and the company’s goals.

  • Broad responsibility and significant operational latitude. Interacts internally and externally with executive level management, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters.

  • Collaborative spirit. Given the significant influence management and cross-functional team alignment, must enjoy working as part of a high performing, enthusiastic team.

  • Ability to interact effectively with executives and all levels within the organization.

  • Ability to work within a matrixed environment balancing needs of multiple stakeholders.

  • 15+ years’ experience in marketing and/or strategy; med tech experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business, MBA preferred.

  • Highly skilled in all aspects of marketing communications, especially strategy, digital/social media, content development and integrated campaign development and execution.

  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management, including prior experience successfully leading marketing teams.
