Philips Assistant Marketing Manager Kitchen Appliances in Shanghai, China

In this role, you have the opportunity to

  • Build a high growth business that will help improve the lives of millions of people in China, while advancing Philips digital transformation journey as a global leader in Health Technology;

You are responsible for

  • The business performance of following subcategories: blenders, juicers, food preparation, kettles, toasters and noodle makers.

  • Establish good relationships with key stakeholders including customers, sales, e-trade, finance, procurement, supply & operations, global Kitchen Appliances business team, external agencies and Management Team, and manage the sales and IGM performance of your subcategories in the China market.

  • Develops the marketing strategy for each product line in China, including the source of business, strategic priorities based on the global Kitchen Appliances strategy and local market situation and identification of opportunities and risks.

  • Roadmap: works with customers and sales teams to develop business cases for new launches and develop proposals for local for local innovation / C2B launches. Develop a launch plan with KPIs and track performance.

  • Develop and execute distribution strategy: consider the needs of strategic BCC’s (business customer combinations) when discussing new launches, ensure that all internal stakeholders are aware and follow the distribution strategy.

  • Always-on campaign and online foundation: generate demand and sell-out via always-on campaigns, define the budget and business case, and ensure that ATL (Baidu search, in-side search etc.) and BTL (promotions, instore etc.) are aligned with BCCs. Set and track SMART targets for all campaign projects to enable continuous improvement and strong results.

  • Promotion plan & pricing: align with sales and e-trade teams the 3-month promotion plans. Ensure a healthy balance between driving sell-out with discounts and managing integral margin, and ensure that promotions across different BCCs are balanced and fair.

  • Business Management Kitchen Appliances China: make use of all available analysis tools (market intelligence reports, financial reports, sell-out reports, stock reports etc.) for the sales forecast, to identify business opportunities and risks and to find root causes for gaps, and prepare pre-reads & presentations for regular review meetings.

  • Drive sell-in vs targets in a sustainable way: review sell-out data, stock levels and activation plan to ensure we have the right products on stock, and work with the sales team and dealers to manage sell-in.

  • Manage the budget: ensure POs have been created before starting projects, update and review the budget at least on monthly basis based on latest planning.

  • Ensure healthy stock levels: drive sales of excess stock in our warehouse and sell-out activities for aging trade stock and manage the number of SKUs to avoid a C-tail.

  • Always act with integrity and follow the Philips Global Business Principles.

You are a part of

Philips China Kitchen Appliances team. You will report to Business Marketing Director ,Kitchen Appliance & Coffee and collaborate with many other teams including Trade Marketing, Digital marketing, PR, E-commerce, Sales, Finance etc.,.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in marketing role with a proven track record on delivering top- and bottom-line business results.

  • University degree with Business/ Strategic Marketing direction.

  • Ability to understand and manage a full Profit & Loss account.

  • A driven, solution-oriented, analytical candidate, who is a quick decision-maker.

  • An outgoing personality who is persuasive in communication, has ability to collaborate effective with and manage stakeholders and agency partners.

  • An organizer with excellent planning & organizational skills, being able to prioritize and manage both short term and long term tasks/priorities and stress resistant.

  • Experience with marketing activation, and strong understanding of consumer motivations and insights. Is able to demonstrate understanding of digital landscape and multi-channel environment.

  • Excellent fluency in written/spoken Chinese and English.
