Philips Consumer Marketing Manager - Oral Healthcare in Shanghai, China


In this role, you have the opportunity to

Take full responsibility of your OHC product category. From defining the growth strategy, drive the definition, development and introduction of range of products, manage product profitability and extending product lifecycles to managing a smooth phase out.

Your goal is to bring that bring ever-more rewarding and enjoyable experiences to consumers by meeting their health & wellbeing needs.

You will translate in-depth consumer, market and competitive analyses into winning concepts by defining the product positioning for new range of products. You will then integrate these new concepts into strategic product roadmaps that uniquely address the needs of the local Chinese consumers, and where required, the needs of other global markets, as well as drive the Lifecycle Management (LCM) of the existing product portfolios.

In this responsible position, you will for identified projects (New /LCM projects) steer the Integral Product Development (IPD)/LCM process from start to end, taking initial ideas through to product development and introduction. During the process, you will interact with all associated disciplines, including New Product Introduction team, Technology & Development departments, internal and external design agencies, own manufacturing units or external suppliers, marketing management and international commercial organizations (COs).

You are responsible for

  • Lead the Development of the long-term vision and 3-year strategy for your category o Development of comprehensive strategy (covering full portfolio, all 4 Ps) and identifies adjacent white spaces and acquisition/alliance targetso Create and assess the product/proposition roadmap for locally relevant propositions Own consumer insights for your category o Propose, analyze, summarize, and catalog consumer research to drive insightso Collects shopper insights generated by China Commercial Organization Develop local, and local-global (as needed) product and non-product propositions o Builds business cases for each propositiono Owns VPW of products in scope until phase-out; translates VPW into commercial brief to drive across functional teamso Owns the development budget per propositiono Manages the cross-functional matrix during proposition development (I&D, Design, Quality, Supply, Marcom), potentially across multiple development sites Develop marketing strategy for propositions o Per proposition, defines marketing approach and objectives (and aligns lead COs, if applicable)o Proposes pricing strategyo Outlines menu of communication vehicles; provides integrated communications briefingo Develops channel guidelines Drive profitable growth o IGM improvement activitieso Work together with the local (and global) COs to increase profitable growth Contact person for a Greater China BMC for total OHC portfolio o Key contact person at category level for the Commercial Organizationo Deliver on key enablers in the BMC planEnsure with the CO that targets in BMC plan are met

You are a part of

Consumer Marketing Management team BG Health & Wellness Greater China.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • University degree or MBA qualified in Business/Strategic Marketing direction

  • 3 to 8 years proven brand/product management experience in a FMCG, healthcare or similar sector.

  • Strong communication skills in Mandarin and English (written and spoken) and be a good presenter. Be willing to work in an international environment and able to manage senior stakeholders

  • Organized, numerate and have keen interest in market and consumer driven approach to product creation & execution (Consumer Insights, VPW development, product market introductions, write and execute marketing plans)

  • Conceptual thinking, organizational and communication skills that allow you to influence others, present convincing arguments and build and maintain extensive networks.

  • Project management skills and broad interests that allow you to create multi-disciplinary environments that inspire and motivate others.
