In this role, you have the opportunity to
Formulating and driving technology and patent licensing strategy and have a natural ability to lead and collaborate. You will communicate well with individuals at all levels and in all roles, including executives, engineers, business partners and adversaries. You will lead business development initiatives in China to identify new licensing partners and product categories, including researching, pitching, negotiating and executing licensing agreements.
You are responsible for
Identify and approach companies in China to engage with Philips as technology implementation partner or technology licensee.
Conduct technical demonstrations to industry players and potential licensees.
Facilitate trials, where Philips demo-technology is integrated in product systems of third party companies.
Negotiate evaluation licenses, cooperation agreements and commercial license agreements.
Manage long term relationships with technology implementation partners and licensees.
Represent Philips in industry and government-sponsored trade events.
You are a part of
An international community of experienced and highly trained IP professionals with a wide-ranging of technical expertise.
You are acting as a strategic advisor in IP matters to Philips’ businesses and research organization.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

At least a bachelor level degree in science or engineering;
Proven track record in B2B business development, and experience in video/audio related consumer industry or telecom market is preferred;
Capability of understanding technical concepts and able to facilitate technical discussions with implementation partners and licensees;
Ability to work in a team and alongside international teams of all levels and technical & non-technical groups;
Strong motivation and the ability to work independently and capable of working out his/her own plan of approach within a given goal and setting.
Excellent relationship building, influencing, and negotiation skills that result in winning through “good will” and persuasion (as opposed to confrontational style);
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese; and
Willingness to travel frequently within China.
