You are responsible for
Carry out research on the principles and mechanisms covering air purification, air pollutant sensing, and materials science.
Define and provide technical leadership for research projects covering air sensing to deliver meaningful improvements for consumers.
Responsible for executing research projects and defining the approach
Contribute to short-term (<2 years) research roadmaps and technology platforms and mid-term (2-4 years) expectations on developments for the targeted applications and domains.
Responsible for maintaining and updating the personal knowledge in his/her area of expertise.
Maintains contacts with colleagues within and outside Philips, other R&D centers and universities, in order to participate in strategic platforms and to keep track of new developments.
You are a part of
Respiratory Health team, report to team leader who reports to Personal Health Research Department Head. No direct report to this position.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Master or Ph.D. in Physics, Device Physics, Materials Science Other majors are possible if prior experience fits the target application area.
3-5 years of working experience after graduation
Specific knowledge of and experience in fabrics application and manufacture is a plus.
Project management experience is a plus.
Hands on experimental research, knowledge of and ability to setup appropriate experimental conditions.
Ability to combine theoretical modeling and experimentation to optimally execute research project.
Experienced in cross-disciplinary co-operation (e.g., chemistry, mechanics, physics).
Passionate, open-minded, with a good team spirit, and results-oriented.
Effective communication skills, good grasp of English both oral and written.
