In this role, you have the opportunity to
Work on technology research in one or multiple areas including healthcare informatics, healthcare IT system and architecture.
You are responsible for
Leading and executing health informatics related projects to develop the analytics prototypes, evaluate and validate data analytics solutions in the hospital settings, take efforts in translating research outcome into business opportunities, and implement in health informatics systems for various healthcare applications.
Identifying research directions in data analysis technologies that potentially have high impact on the Philips Healthcare business, based on thorough understanding of unmet needs and up-to-date technological development.
Contributing to establish the group know-how and competency on measurement and patient data analysis technologies and applications, in particular those relevant to the Philips business.
Actively seeking for open innovation opportunities with universities, institutes and other external knowledge centers, to ensure the success of research projects.
Managing well the research outcome in the form of IP, internal technical reports and quality publications, where applicable.
Working along with peer colleagues across projects, groups and labs, remaining open in sharing insights and making sure communication goes well and timely.
Documenting your innovation outcomes in a formal way such as patents, technical notes, as well as peer-reviewed publications
You are a part of
The PD (Precision Diagnosis) & IGT (Image Guided Therapy) department of Philips Research China, focusing on innovations using data mining, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in the professional healthcare settings. A highly effective and efficient, but positive workplace atmosphere is valued and a diverse team with backgrounds not only in biomedical informatics but also in computer science will greet you. You will collaborate with business teams as well as hospital professionals to accelerate innovations.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
PhD or Master in one of the following areas: electronics engineering, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, information security or related.
3+ years of experience as researcher or engineer in the area of healthcare informatics with a proven track record of creativity and innovation in academia or industry is a must.
Hands-on experience in Python, R, Java, C++ or any other programming language
Solid knowledge and experience in data mining, machine learning and statistics is a strong plus.
Evidence of strong project management skills
Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel
Flexible, quick learner and willing to build competence in new area.
Deep technical knowledge and passion for technology, information, and understanding of industry fundamentals
Highly self-motivated person, who able drive projects forward without detailed guidance
Excellent interpersonal and English language communication skills (written & verbal). Capable of presenting complex technical topics in a clear and structured way, ability to moderate discussions, meetings, and projects.
