Philips Senior Mechanical Function Manager in Shenyang, China

You are responsible for

  • Lead self and others with the analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting of internal or supplier mechanical systems and/or sub-systems with all projects and tasks

  • Lead self and others with the development of modeling, simulation and analysis

  • Produce the design requirements and designs for mechanical systems and/or sub-systems with all projects and tasks

  • Estimate time requirements of others, individually or in a team, to achieve goals and objectives

  • Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments within the Mechanical Engineering function

  • Work cross-functionally with peers to ensure most appropriate solution

  • Work as technical lead for a given project when needed

  • Work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles

  • Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

  • Develop and implement cross-functional Value Engineering and Design for Reliability/Service methodology

  • Work is expected to result in the development of new or improved products and processes

  • Focus on factors that influence overall business results and links initiatives with them

  • Resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways

  • Act on broadest problem domain (i.e. process, program, personnel, business, etc.) using any and all methods to solve a problem, including using others or finding published solutions

  • Research new technologies and applies where applicable

  • Apply learning to change and new problems to identify opportunities

  • Develop project plan timeliness in conjunction with cross-functional peers and Project Manager

  • Help others deal with ambiguity and changing priorities

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 10 or more years of proven ability to design & develop mechanical solutions

  • Proven experience designing/developing mechanical solutions that comply with IEC 60601 standards

  • Product development process and good knowledge in ISO13485 (preferred)

  • Medical diagnostic industry awareness is highly desired

  • Proven excellence in technical leadership in a matrix environment, including demonstrated ability to influence indirect resources

  • Experience managing stakeholders

  • Project and process management

  • Demonstrated experience developing and creating strong functional teams with robust talent pipeline. Excellent time management and scheduling

  • Good people management skills, including: leadership, conflict resolution, assertiveness, negotiation and influence management

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills while communicating in both English and Chinese

  • Strong presentation skills, appropriate to both management and customer audiences

Lead mechanical engineering group in the PCC Shenyang R&D organization encompassing design, implementation and testing to meet sub-system requirements for CT and PET/CT Scanners.
