Philips Environment Design Consultant in Singapore, Singapore

In this role, you have the opportunity to

  • Understanding people, business and societies, framing the problem and focusing on user needs and requirements

  • Environment Design for healthcare and consumer-facing spaces.

  • Creating user focused strategies, innovations, solutions, and experiences and the user testing and validation of these, considering usability, sustainability and appropriate visual and verbal articulation in line with DLS and Brand guidelines

  • Driving operational excellence and efficiency, delivering appropriate design quality within budget and project parameters

  • Customer focus and Design consultancy, collaborating, partnering and co-creating with internal and external stakeholders, with clear and impactful communication and articulation of design decision making

  • Effective teamwork, giving and receiving appropriate guidance, being respectful and inclusive, driving performance, quality and integrity

You are responsible for

  • Responsible for conception, development, and specification of environment design solutions in professional and consumer healthcare domain

  • Participate and lead fieldwork pertaining to spatial analysis of reference healthcare facilities

  • Understand clinical and experiential needs for both patients and staff within a healthcare environment. Interview key stakeholders in the healthcare field to gain insights and knowledge. Interpret user needs and create relevant and meaningful concepts and solutions

  • Report and visualize the current state of spatial experience

  • Envision and articulate the future state end-user experience from a spatial design standpoint.

  • Supports the design business partner and creative lead in the scoping, production and management of all agreed project deliverables.

  • Nimble and agile to work in compact dynamic teams. Must be keen to learn working with other professions such as Architects, Industrial Designers, Design Researchers, and Communication Designers

Knowhow

  • Deep expertise in architecture/interior design, that covers applied knowledge of space planning, furniture sourcing, conceptual lighting, materials specification.

  • Affinity and ability to develop an industrialized approach to interior design

  • Ability to produce conceptual visualizations in form of hand sketches, renderings, posters, and diagrams.

  • Ability to build mood boards, inspirational material, and source samples.

  • Awareness of BIM software and professional practices will be a bonus

Hard Skills

  • Interpret 2D floor plans, understand user zoning and create innovative spatial and experiential design solutions, Ability to communicate design ideas using appropriate visualizations and design specifications

  • Proficient in 3D modelling Software (Rhino/3D Max/SketchUp)

  • Proficient in Rendering Software (Vray/ KeyShot)

  • Proficient in 2D drawing software (ACAD/ Vetorworks)

  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign,

  • Proficient in hand sketching and visualization

Soft Skills

  • Critical thinker and creative problem solver

  • Communicates ideas clearly and persuasively at an individual and group level.

  • Operate with a consultative mindset towards collaborators, maintaining professional quality of Design

You are a part of

The Strategic Design consulting team, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working with hospitals and health systems across the healthcare continuum to improve patient and staff outcomes and experiences.

The Philips Design global creative force of some 400+ professionals is located in our Design studios in Europe, North America, and Asia. You will be part of an amazing cross-disciplinary team that includes architects & interior designers, product design, interaction design, service design, people research, communication design, and project management. As part of the Singapore team, you will be co-located with product managers, R&D scientists and business leaders defining the future of many of Philips’ businesses.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college in Interior Design/ Architecture/ environmental design

  • Bonus: Masters degree/ exchange overseas studies

  • Experience working in Corporate In-house/ Interior Design/ Architectural/ Industrial Design Studios. With Experience working on projects across different industries, Client interfacing experience needed. healthcare experience a bonus.

  • Experience working with partners in the construction/ fabrication field is helpful

  • Preferred level of experience is 5-8 years
