Challenge

The Director role is responsible for the functional leadership and management of a technical organization for CT and AMI product lines. This role manages the R&D and implementation process of products and services. Coordinates sector, departmental or cross-functional, teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. Monitors development from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending. Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring development is on schedule and within budget constraints. Supervises, develops, coaches and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the development function. Assesses emerging technologies and may determine how to map them into product development roadmaps. Keeps abreast of technical developments through literature, technical contacts, and industry competition. Ensures compliance with product lifecycle and development procedures and processes as well as all applicable quality and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating a network cross-functionally and resolving issues to achieve business goals and objectives, Driving execution of product development plans

  • Establishing technical and/or product roadmaps, Defining strategic directions, Identifying technical trends and pipelines, Communicating the strategies and visions within and across the organization

  • Understand external factors including: Regulatory, Customers, Competition, and Industry trends

  • Responsible for product deliverables including: Delivery of all contracted features • time , budget, quality, Ensure budgetary compliance

  • Responsible for people management including: Developing people, Motivating teams, Promoting excellence, Driving recognition, Communicating

  • Drives functional excellence including: Professionalism in domain expertise, Building up of strong, innovative teams, World class productivity, Promote domain knowledge, system thinking, and customer understanding

  • Enables process management including: Support for all global initiatives, Prioritization of team goals, Enable adequate coverage for deliverables, Build and promote strong processes, Drives accountability across the team

  • Exemplifies global thinking including: Promoting openness to learning things and leverage others’ capabilities, Sharing capabilities across global locations, Building an environment of trust

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent.

  • 10+ years of experience working as an Engineer or in a similar field.

  • 1-2 years of experience as a project lead or equivalent.

Desired qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline.

  • Experience in a regulated / process-oriented environment such as medical device development.

  • Experience managing teams in multiple locations.
