Philips Supplier Quality Engineer in Suzhou, China


In this role, you have the opportunity to

Serve the Diagnostic Imaging global supply chain management to drive quality activities with suppliers, setting a high standard and fast response expectation so quality issues are prevented or minimized. Lead with best practices to enable our organization to provide high quality medical products to our customers. The role will manage activities downstream related to purchased part qualification with suppliers, supplier quality issue resolution and ensuring appropriate incoming material inspection strategies.

You are responsible for

  • Independently Produces and completes Supplier Quality Engineering related activities and documentation.

  • Completes Qualification of materials and components (including spare parts), development/ improvement of supplier processes for CtQ's, supplier process control plans; ensuring that the supplied part meets specifications, and the control limits/tolerances for CtQ parameters are met.

  • Qualifies and sustains sub-processes of suppliers, including performing process validations for critical supplier processes impacting part quality.

  • Ensures that the components/products at the supplier (including spare parts and services) are released according agreed specification and quality requirements (APQP / PPAP), and SQ audit results.

  • Independently works to deploy common approaches and working methods to drive ‘’One Philips’’ towards Supply Base in the assigned BG or Market. SQE: · Part Qualification (APQP)

  • Partner with Design Engineer to determine Part Qualification requirements

  • Complete Part Qualification / Special Process validation activities

  • Maintain Receiving and Inspection Plans

  • Manage Supplier Change Request· Supplier Oversight & Monitoring

  • Perform monthly supplier monitoring based on non-conformance data received from the factory and field

  • Facilitate quality review meetings

  • Initiate cross-functional Supplier Quality Improvement Plans/Projects or SCARs based on data analysis/trending and outcome of quality review meetings· Manage Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR)

  • Active participation in Material Review Boards (MRB) to address product related factory and field non-conformances

  • Facilitate SCAR phase/milestone review meetings with suppliers · Audits and Assessments

  • Conduct for-cause Supplier Audits/AssessmentsSupplier Selection, Classification and Approval

  • Partner with Procurement Engineering and Advance Quality Engineering to complete supplier selection, classification and qualification activities for New Product Introduction

  • Partner with Procurement Engineering to maintain the Supplier Master File / Approved Supplier List

  • Partner with R&D to evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities and maturity

  • Partner with R&D to manage New Product Introduction into supplier facilities/ manufacturing environment using APQP or PPA elements· Strategic, Corporate, & Functional Directives

  • Continuous improvement effort to establish One QMS

  • Support cross-functional teams responsible for managing EU MDR activities

  • Support global rollout of Supplier Quality IT tools (e.g., MetricsBus, Trackwise)

  • Support Supplier Quality Hoshins

  • Support Business Review Meetings

  • Facilitate Purchasing Controls related CAPA

  • Facilitate activities related to supplier De-risking · Part Qualification

  • Develop Receiving and Inspection Plans· Audits and Assessments

  • Conduct planned Supplier Audits/Assessments

  • Directly reports to Supplier Quality Sr. Manager

  • Individual contributor

  • Work together with other supplier quality engineer and backup each other

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and participate in process implementation and improvement in a team environment

  • Ability to interface with leadership and internal and external customers, responding in a professional manner

  • Ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral) using English (or local language).

  • Ability to influence team members to affect positive change

  • Conflict-resolution skills
