In this role, you have the opportunity to identify, develop and bring to life new business opportunities. Building on existing and new customer relationships to ensure Philips is the number one provider of Managed Services within the Healthcare industry, the BDM is expected to operate and interface at Procurement, Hospital Directorate and Executive level, executing relationship capabilities to drive business growth.
This role is open to both experienced BDMs, who may be looking to take a team leader role, and those looking for their next step in the commercial world. The grade and final position will be determined by the person who shows the best fit to the broader role and can demonstrate the desire and tenacity to succeed in this intense and long term business.
You are responsible for
Leading cross-functional teams to develop Managed Service business.
Working with the Managed Service Director and other solutions Directors to develop and deliver new business models against strategy.
Developing and maintaining opportunity funnel, working closely with Strategic Marketing support and the District sales teams.
Determining customer needs and insights first hand, by working closely with the Districts and their customers.
Developing solutions in line with customer needs, mitigating organisational risks and maximising strategic benefits.
Building customer relationships in readiness to engage in longer term plans; advisory, consulting capacity. Be seen as a trusted advisor to the customer.
Negotiating and generating agreements with customers utilising market knowledge to maximise leverage.
Utilising skills in acquiring deep knowledge and understanding of the customers organisation and wider healthcare ecosystem to build and influence the customer’s choice for Philips portfolio over our competitors.
Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to leverage opportunities.
Exhibiting leadership skills to drive projects through to successful completion.
Preparing professional bid documents for contract based bids and capture learnings for the preparation of future pro-active propositions.
Designing, implementing and maintaining appropriate processes for managed contracts.
Testing propositions for market & customer fit as well as sustainable delivery. Reviewing results against expected business outcome.
Supporting fellow team members in defining and achieving strategic goals and in winning prioritised projects.
You are a part of the Managed Service team, which is part of the Solutions Centre of Excellence with specific responsibility for Managed Services, Cardiology Managed Services and Radiology Solutions in the UK and Ireland. Reporting to the Managed Services Director, the team comprises business development managers, bid managers and performance management specialists.
You will also work alongside the operational team of client delivery managers who are responsible for the successful execution of new and existing contracts. Day to day you will work closely with and support the Senior BDMs.
You will also work closely with supporting functions in Finance, procurement, customer services and Modality business units as well as the District teams. You will coordinate where necessary with the Integrated Solutions Centre based centrally in Eindhoven.
This position is field based and you will be working from home. Travel across the UK&I is expected as well as occasional international travel.
In this role, you should have the following skills and experience
At least 3 years relevant experience with a degree level education or equivalent
Proven track record in a sales, account management or business development role preferably in Healthcare or B2B.
Knowledge of processes and structures within the healthcare market Experience in high value, complex solutions design and selling. Understanding of NHS structure, commissioning, procurement, provision and challenges.
Operates confidently in a digital world utilizing social media where necessary to leverage and build on business opportunities.
Ability to identify sales opportunities and promote product and commercial innovation portfolio leveraging all areas of the business to support sales growth.
Ability to translate customer needs into marketable and deliverable propositions.
Experience of working within and/or leading a cross functional team to drive successful bids.
Experience of working with high value complex bids and managing long term solution bids.
‘Hands On’ experience of pulling together bids, contract documents an advantage.
High literacy skills and competence in preparing written, visual and spoken customer proposals and comprehensive PC Skills
