Philips Operations Manager/Client Services Manager - Managed Services in United Kingdom - Remote Based, United Kingdom


The need for alternative and complex solutions in the healthcare market is increasing rapidly and Philips Managed Services is at the forefront of this innovation. Following recent successes in securing new long term partnerships within the NHS Philips is looking to grow its Managed Service operations team with an additional Operations Manager. This role will operationalise and manage the long term deliver y of a managed services one within a cardiology setting in the NHS in West Yorkshire, and identify, develop and bring to life new business opportunities. Building on existing and new customer relationships to ensure Philips is the number one provider of Managed Services within the Healthcare industry the Operations Manager is expected to operate and interface at Procurement, Hospital Directorate and Executive level executing relationship capabilities to drive business growth.

Aim of the job

The Managed Service Operations Manager is Philips named representative and reports to the Philips UK&I Solutions Management Team. The MSP Operations Manager will be based on client site at Leeds Cardiology and is accountable for managing the onsite operational and managerial customer relationship.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • To generate a Partnership approach to customer relationship management

  • To be the key Managed Service Progamme (MSP) representative on the Investment Committee

  • To manage the Equipment Replacement Plan (ERP) and it’s execution

  • To have Revenue, Cost, Budgetary and Asset management responsibility

  • To be responsible for the operation of the MSP financial model

  • To manage operational performance and service delivery of the MSP and its sub-contractors

  • To be responsible for Change Management and Asset Investment Planning

  • To be responsible for MSP risk management and mitigation overall

  • To interpret clinical specifications and operational output specifications into actionable plans (where contract requires)

  • To maintain Training schedules and records (where contract requires)

  • To be responsible for all MSP i nvestment decisions according to schedules / budgets

  • To optimise equipment availability of MSP assets, equipment and services

  • To direct MSP Quality management policy and goals with benchmarked results

  • To develop MSP management information and operational trend reports

  • To be the interface for customer ‘Service extension’ proposals

  • To be the customer interface for supporting business plans

  • To manage complaints through to satisfactory resolution and close

  • To ensure that all records required for the operation of the service are in place and accurate

  • To own the performance reporting and auditability of the MSP performance regime

  • To lead for the MSP on Health and Safety issues, controls assurance compliance and liaison with the Trust on Medical Device Alerts, Hazard and Safety notices

  • To be responsible for the interface to the MES Helpdesk

  • To own and execute Operational Disaster Recovery and Contingency Planning


The MSP Operations Manager will be fully authorised to make decisions on Philips behalf ensuring a swift response to the Trust.

Degree level education or equivalent

Preferably relevant technical or clinical experience

Experience in a s imilar role within in Healthcare or B2B environment

Understands the NHS operational structure

Experience with Service improvement methodologies/lean six sigma and advantage.

Fluent in English, verbal and written

Valid driving licence
