Philips Technical Consultant (Server Build/Deployment) in United States of America - Home Based, Massachusetts


In this role, you have the opportunity to

Provide high quality technical deployment services to our valued Philips IntelliSpace PACS customers. As part of a cross-functional implementation team, you will be required to deploy core technical components of our solutions across our customer base and will be involved through all phases of a projects staging, implementation and lifecycle.

You are responsible for

  • Building, installing, setting up and configuring Philips IntelliSpace PACS servers, systems and supporting technologies, per Philips approved processes and procedures.

  • Working with hardware order teams to order and install any new hardware necessary to support a deployment.

  • Deploying advanced Philips solutions on physical and virtual high availability VMware environments.

  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as Philips Project Managers, Technical Consultants and/or customers to address any pre and post deployment issues and to complete assigned projects.

  • Supporting in-direct product validation for new software and hardware releases and providing feedback to the staging manager, if something is not correct.

  • Supporting local and global service teams, as well as assisting onsite engineers who are facing problems or difficulties with installations, in order to achieve a perfect working solution.

  • Participating in Change Management functions related to creating, reviewing and approving Philips Change Request documents, to ensure activities are performed following Philips standards.

  • Performing post-change review sessions by analyzing pre, post and future changes for projects improvements and compliance.

  • Reporting project progress via various reporting tools, i.e. Excel or PowerPoint.

  • Ability to travel 10-15% as needed.

You are a part of

EDI Philips Enterprise Diagnostic Informatics (EDI) Business Group (BG), which provides affordable and integrated informatics solutions for health systems. We believe that by enabling intelligent decision-making and improving clinical pathways, our solutions will lead to better clinical, operational and financial outcomes across the health continuum. You will report directly to the Senior Program Manager - Install Base.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience/Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (REQUIRED) in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent combination IT/IS experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in enterprise wide IT system deployment (healthcare informatics technology and system deployment - preferred)

  • Experience in deploying enterprise level systems and software into live customer environments

  • Advanced and in-depth IT and IT workflow knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot software and hardware problems.

  • Experience installing, configuring and administering the build of the following technologies/protocols (not limited to the list below):

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 thru 2019 in an enterprise environment

  • VMware ESX or Hyper V

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008/2012/2019

  • Client Operating Systems: Windows 7/8/10

  • Enterprise servers and SAN’s (preferably HP)

  • Working knowledge of Networking; default gateways, virtual LANs, static routes, IP network address space, switches, firewalls and routers etc. (general knowledge)

  • PowerShell Scripting (general understanding)
