As the Software Development Manager, you will be leading the Interoperability Solutions software development team.
Connecting hospitals worldwide, Philips Interoperability Solutions enables health care professionals to share complex data so that they have the information they need to provide their patients with the best possible care. We provide this as a solution to customers, as well as a platform for broader Philips solutions.
At present, we are organized as 5 squads (4 in Zeist, 1 in Toronto), with a total of 30 people (scrum masters, developers, devops engineers, testers). Future expansion of the team is foreseen due to further integration and cooperation with other Philips software development teams. The squads are committed to innovation and contribution, trust and respect, teamwork and uncompromising integrity. Part of a growing entity within Philips, you will attract talent and help expand the development capacity and capability for Interoperability Solutions.
You are responsible for
(Line) Management of the software development teams (squads).
Ensuring and improving the business value output of squads: on-time delivery of innovative software releases with committed features driven by our Scaled Agile Framework process.
People management: career development, coaching, mentoring and supporting the growth of the organization as well as individual team members in the squads.
Recruitment of new talent and performance management.
Managing the Software Development budget.
Ensuring compliance with product lifecycle and software development procedures and processes as well as all applicable quality and regulatory requirements. With your peers, you will drive the continuous improvement of these processes.
You are a part of
The Philips IS R&D leadership team, consisting of CTO, Software Development Manager (this role), Release Manager and Agile Coach. You will report to the CTO.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or relevant equivalent technical experience; MSc preferred
At least 5 years management experience in leading teams in an Agile software development environment.
Building successful teams: Using appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to build a cohesive and high performant team; facilitating the completion of team goals.
Managing team expansion in local or remote locations, including near-shoring or off-shoring initiatives.
Managing budgets and allocation of resources, tools and training.
Change management skills, supporting a growing organization focused on self-organization.
Personnel management skills including recruitment and selection, adequate resource allocation / resource portfolio management, remuneration, and performance appraisals.
Developing others: Planning and supporting the development of individuals' skills and abilities so that they can fulfil current or future job/role responsibilities more effectively.
Coaching: Providing timely guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas needed to accomplish a task or solve a problem.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, cross-discipline and cross-culture environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
